ONU Mulheres anuncia Marta Vieira da Silva 
como embaixadora global da Boa Vontade






 A ONU Mulheres anunciou na ultima quinta-feira (12/7) a nomeação da renomada jogadora de futebol brasileira Marta Vieira da Silva como Embaixadora da Boa Vontade para mulheres e meninas no esporte. Marta da Silva, dedicará seus esforços para apoiar o trabalho das mulheres pela igualdade de gênero e empoderamento das mulheres em todo o mundo, inspirando mulheres e meninas a desafiar estereótipos, superar barreiras e seguir seus sonhos e ambições. Incluindo na área do esporte.


“A participação das mulheres no esporte e na atividade física não é exceção. Por meio do esporte, mulheres e meninas podem desafiar normas socioculturais e estereótipos de gênero e aumentar sua autoestima, desenvolver habilidades de vida e liderança; elas podem melhorar sua saúde e posse e compreensão de seus corpos; tomar consciência do que é violência e como evitá-la, procurar serviços disponíveis e desenvolver habilidades econômicas”.





Acolhendo a nova Embaixadora da Boa Vontade, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, diretora executiva da ONU Mulheres, disse: “Marta Vieira da Silva é um modelo excepcional para mulheres e meninas em todo o mundo. Sua própria experiência de vida conta uma história poderosa do que pode ser alcançado com determinação, talento e coragem. FIBA reconhece Amaury Pasos como MVP dos Mundiais de 1959 e 1963






A Federação Internacional de Basquetebol (FIBA) reconheceu Amaury Pasos como o único jogador a ter sido duas vezes MVP do Mundial. A entidade que regula o basquete no Mundo informou o brasileiro, membro do Hall da Fama do basquete, que ele também levou o prêmio de melhor do torneio em 1959.
“Estou muito feliz e gratificado. A FIBA me notificou que foi acrescentado em meu perfil no Hall da Fama também como MVP do Mundial de 1959, que somando com a de 1963, me tornei o único jogador integrante do Hall da Fama a ter sido por mais de uma vez o melhor jogador dos campeonatos mundiais”, declarou El Pelao, como ficou conhecido pela calvice precoce.
Nascido na capital paulista em 11 de dezembro de 1935, Amaury mudou-se para a Argentina com apenas cinco anos. Por lá, teve seu primeiro contato com os esportes, quando se dividia entre praticar a natação e o basquete.

Chegou a atuar em times argentinos, mas iniciou sua carreira mesmo quando retornou ao Brasil, defendendo o Clube Atlhetico Paulistano. Começou a ganhar destaque no esporte ao se transferir para o Clube de Regatas Tiête.

O Ala-pivô passou depois pelo tradicional Esporte Clube Sírio, e em seguida foi contratado pelo Corinthians, onde, ao lado de Wlamir Marques, René, Ubiratan e Rosa Branca, formou uma das equipes mais vitoriosas do basquete nacional. 

Bicampeão mundial em 59 e 63 e considerado um dos melhores jogadores da história do basquete brasileiro.
E foi no clube do Parque São Jorge onde Amaury encerrou sua carreira profissional, no ano de 1972.

Amaury marcou época na seleção, fazendo parte do grupo que melhor representou e mais conquistou títulos para a equipe brasileira. Foram dois Mundiais, em 59 e 63; duas medalhas olímpicas de bronze, em 60 e 64; quatro Campeonatos Sul-Americanos; entre tantos outros resultados expressivos daquele ótimo time do Brasil.

FIBA recognizes Amaury Pasos as World MVP of 1959 and 1963

The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has recognized Amaury Pasos as the only player to have been a two-time World Cup MVP.
